Within the professional green sector, we see that the importance of bee and butterfly-friendly planting is growing. Pollinators play a crucial role in our ecosystems, but are under pressure from urbanisation, monotonous planting and a shortage of food sources. In our projects we notice that with the right plant choices, every green project can contribute to biodiversity, without compromising on appearance, maintenance or management.
For bees and butterflies, everything revolves around the availability of nectar and pollen, spread across the entire season. In practice, we see that this requires a thoughtful selection of flowering perennials and native species with staggered flowering periods.
Strong species such as Salvia, Nepeta, Echinacea, Achillea and Lavandula are ones we regularly use. These plants flower abundantly, are low-maintenance and have proven to be real magnets for pollinators. By combining flowering from early spring through late summer, a stable food source is created that genuinely contributes to nature-inclusive green.
We notice that native species play a key role in strengthening biodiversity. They align optimally with local insect species and provide not only food, but also breeding and shelter opportunities.
Combinations of perennials such as Geranium pratense and Centaurea, supplemented with native shrubs such as Crataegus and Viburnum, provide clear ecological added value in our experience.
This approach results in:

Besides flowering, structure is essential. We see that ornamental grasses and perennials that remain standing in winter provide important overwintering sites for insects. By not mowing everything tightly or pruning immediately, a living environment is created that functions year-round and remains ecologically valuable.

In our view, bee and butterfly-friendly planting is widely applicable: from public spaces and business parks to retail environments and project-based planting. By making smart combinations of perennials, grasses, shrubs and optionally trees, a low-maintenance green concept with maximum ecological impact is created.
The result is green that:
We select and combine plants that have proven themselves in practice. From our knowledge of garden plants, market developments and international sourcing, we ensure reliable plant selections, delivery certainty and solutions that truly work.
This is how we translate ecological ambitions into green that works – for people and nature, today and in the future.
